WordPress Sites Custom Sites
Website work: WordPress Websites using several forms of WordPress platforms and templates. StudioPress, Classic Editor, Guttenberg and Blocksy themes. I work closely with the client to assess their goals and needs for the website. I then explore the look and fit of the theme to work with. The theme acts as a framework and then I customize the look adding images, logos, slideshows, colors and some CSS.
Custom Websites: Having your website look good on all platforms: large screens, tablets and phones, Responsive Web Design (RWD) started around 2010. Around this time, I worked on custom built websites. I Designed the look in programs like Photoshop, Illustrator and DreamWeaver and then worked with a programmer to translate the design into a working website. The programmer used MySQL and PHP to create a database driven website with (Responsive Web Design) RWD. View my Custom Website Designs here. Now that website builders like WordPress manage the RWD, have effective Content Management Systems and a variety of templates, I find that I like working this way instead of trying to “recreate the wheel” by creating a custom website. Instead of hiring a programmer, I can still create a custom-like-look working with images, slideshows and design but still use the theme’s templates. I have been working this way for a few years now.
